Steven M. Solomon, M.D.

Steven Solomon, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmic care, laser and refractive cataract surgery with premium lens options, and other in-office and outpatient procedures. He manages a broad range of eye diseases and conditions including diabetic eye care, macular degeneration, glaucoma and dry eye.

His surgical practice embraces new technology and his experience includes over a thousand laser-assisted cataract cases using the state of the art LenSx laser. He is experienced with premium lens upgrades including toric, PanOptix, Vivity, Symfony, ReSTOR, Tecnis Multifocal, Crystalens and Trulign lenses. Dr. Solomon is committed to finding the best surgical options to satisfy his patients based on their individual goals.

Dr. Solomon joined Glens Falls Eye Associates in 2002 after completing residency training at SUNY Upstate Health Science Center in Syracuse. In Syracuse, he served as Chief Resident at both the VA hospital and the Upstate University Center for Vision Care.  Originally from Southern California, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, San Diego followed by medical school at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

Dr. Solomon is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmological Society.  From 2008 to 2018, he was chairman of the Ophthalmology Department of Glens Falls Hospital and served on the Medical Executive Committee. He has been the Medical Director of the New York Eye Surgical Center since it opened in 2013.
